Peyton Manning has announced he will retire and plans to hold a press conference to share his decision on Monday. But for me, Peyton Manning is the last true field general in the NFL: the one who calls his own plays and even designs them. The one who's offensive style arguably forms its own system. In a league of signal callers who are just graded on what they can memorized, Manning stands out as a thinker. The only player who has the stuff to come close to Manning is Jameis Winston.
